Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join our team - working across the Antenatal and Postnatal ward and Birthing Suites. We have Full-time, Part-time and Casual work available. About us Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge. The Role An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Midwife to join our team on a full-time/part time basis. We are looking for an expert midwife, who is committed to excellence, has extensive skills in post-partum care as well as a passion for delivery of woman centered care. To succeed in the role as a Registered Midwife, you will need to bring a genuine interest in caring for women and their family through the various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. You will be an experienced midwife with excellent communication skills and enjoy working in an inclusive and vibrant environment that values and supports our diverse families. Essential Criteria:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
Minimum of 2 years' relevant post registration qualifications
Demonstrated experience working in the provision of antenatal and post-natal midwifery services.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiative using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.
Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient centred care;
Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills;
Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty
