About the Role (your why)

The Financial Reporting and Billing Analyst is a hands-on financial analyst responsible for day-to-day cost management, invoice generation and commercial reviews and analysis. You will achieve this by being proactive in identifying opportunities to perform value-added tasks to support the business in achieving its objectives.

Working with our dedicated customer teams, you will be the first point of contact for all financial queries. You will liaise with the finance team and the broader business to ensure a high standard of service is provided for all queries.

Our offices are based in Canberra or Melbourne, we like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best! 

Please note that to be successful in this role you will need to be an Australian Citizen, and be eligible for Baseline/ NV1 Security Clearance.

What you’ll do    

• Collate and QA monthly invoices and supporting documentation
• Manage and resolve billing queries and escalation from the customer
• Follow up customer aged debt and purchase orders
• Prepare daily, monthly and ad hoc BAU reports and billing data
• Perform data trend analysis and present on billing trends across the delivery teams
• Establish and develop key relationships with the customer

Key to your success in the role is an understanding of basic commercial and financial concepts. You will have solid Microsoft Excel skills – and be keen to get your geek on with a spreadsheet!

The Property Development team plays a key role by providing comprehensive property project management services within the Qantas Group. The Property Development Manager position is responsible for planning, development and delivery of property-related capital projects, ranging from new build projects to fit out and building upgrades. As a Property Development Manager, you ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and recognised standards. The position manages external professional consultants on the delivery, governance and financial control of projects and negotiates with airport owners/operators on the provision of operational facilities and accommodation for use by the airline. This role is also responsible for developing and updating property development options, accommodation policy, project delivery methodology, and overall facility planning and space allocation management, consistent with Qantas Group’s corporate plans.

You’ll have –

• 5+ years’ experience delivering buildings and infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle in the aviation and/or industrial sectors
• Tertiary Qualifications/ bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
• Demonstrated experience with contracting and supplier management e.g. sourcing, negotiating, risk minimisation
• Project management skills with exposure to a variety of project and/or development methodologies
• An understanding of financial evaluation principles and techniques
• An understanding of the regulatory environment, with a willingness and ability to increase knowledge base
