About the Role:
This unique permanent opportunity as an Environmental Graduate at Alcoa, empowers you to shape your career in an exciting three-year customised graduate program allowing you to contribute to a more sustainable world. During the program you will rotate across our WA bauxite mine sites based in the Peel and Upper Southwest regions. These site-based roles allow you to easily fit the graduate program into your lifestyle whilst allowing you to learn and grow, and develop hands-on experience and expertise in:
- Maintaining, coordinating, standardising and improving Environmental Management Systems
- Coordinating periodic environmental reports and metrics to meet Alcoa’s regulatory compliance and obligations
- Developing and maintaining environmental training packages for operations personnel
- Contributing to monitoring and reporting operational compliance to regulatory requirements and licence conditions
- Assisting in investigations of, and addressing environmental incidents and complaints
- Contributing to Environmental Monitoring programs including noise, dust, waste and emissions management
- Assisting with internal and external environmental audits
Working alongside seasoned professionals throughout the program, you will be provided with coaching, mentoring, hands-on and professional training to accelerate your development and maximise your full potential. The best part is that your experience will be diverse; from working in our corporate offices as part of our Global Asset Management team, to a local on-site environment within our 2 mine sites, 3 powerhouses and 2 alumina refineries.
You will be provided with an increasing level of responsibility to use your innovative thinking, your motivation to learn and passion for growth to shape the future of our business. About the Location
Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia and it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
