About the role

Multiple opportunities exist for experienced and passionate Chefs to join the Journey Beyond Rail Expeditionson-train team, commencing in February 2024. You would be responsible for the high quality preparation and presentation of the fine dining menu on board our trains.

Reporting to the Chef De Partie on train in a permanent role, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of unique menu, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction;
• Maintaining levels of stock and inventory;
• Hygiene, cleanliness and general safety of all staff working in food preparation areas; and
• Compliance with HACCP

To be successful in this role you are passionate and proud of the food and service you deliver and are willing to go above and beyond for our guests.

Successful candidates must have:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and minimum 3 years industry experience in fast paced culinary environment
• Current Senior First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
• This position is physically demanding and will require you to work on your feet for long periods of time and in confined spaces.

The Mission IT Operator serves as a Mission Systems Computer Operator (MSCO) 24x7 engineering Team Member, offering direct support for detection, isolation, and resolution of ground segment problems and serving as first responder for all site issues. As a Senior Payroll Officer at Retinue, you will be joining a growing team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse client base. Leveraging your extensive experience in payroll processing, you will ensure that our clients' payroll operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with tax legislation.

You will not be responsible for calculating employee hours, rates of pay or entitlements, which we consider to be employment relations work and outside the scope of our payroll processing service. • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets
• Monitor and report on financial performance, including variance analysis and key performance indicators
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
• Manage budgeting and forecasting activities, including revenue projections and expense planning
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or other relevant professional certification is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP
• Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and modeling
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

The role

As a Senior Payroll Officer at Retinue, you will be joining a growing team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our diverse client base. Leveraging your extensive experience in payroll processing, you will ensure that our clients' payroll operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with tax legislation.

You will not be responsible for calculating employee hours, rates of pay or entitlements, which we consider to be employment relations work and outside the scope of our payroll processing service. You will however be responsible for helping our clients make payroll processing less of a burden and making sense of complex ATO/tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that payroll processing is completed on time, is accurate, and with a focus on providing a hassle-free client experience.
• Ensure compliance with tax legislation and reporting requirements of different states and territories.
• Complete superannuation reconciliations and lodgements
• Accurately report, manage and lodge payroll information through the Single Touch Payroll system.
• Resolve escalated payroll issues and queries, collaborating with clients, internal stakeholders, and external authorities when necessary.
• Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation that may impact payroll processing.
• Provide supervision to junior team members, including offshore team members, to help foster their professional growth and development.
• Complete year-end payroll activities and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar role, managing payroll for multiple clients ideally in a senior capacity.
• Xero payroll software experience is essential; experience of using other payroll systems will be considered favourably.
• In-depth knowledge of tax legislation to the extent it relates to payroll processing.
• Ability to manage multiple client priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

$80,000-$95,000 + super (depending on experience)
