As a member of the leadership team in store, you support the Store Manager in all areas of running a multi-million-dollar business. From motivating team members to rostering and reporting, you’ll be part of an exceptional team that delivers extraordinarily efficient service to our customers.

As an Assistant Store Manager you’ll:

• Help to develop the next generation of leaders in our stores by training and coaching team members to be their best
• Keep your store looking top-notch, upholding the highest standards of safety and cleanliness
• Manage our stock, keeping an eye on inventory, and minimising losses
• Work alongside your team on registers, filling shelves and merchandising special buys
• Identify opportunities for improvement - we love a good idea!
• Ensure our stores run smoothly, helping to keep our customers Australia’s most satisfied . There’s nothing like the satisfaction of a job well done!
• Step up and run the store whilst the Store Manager is on leave.

The key aspects of the role include:

1. Construction and Engineering Management:

• End-to-End Project Oversight: Manage design, construction and engineering aspects of multiple renewable energy projects (solar hybrid, wind and BESS) from inception to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards, design criteria, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Industry Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with contractors, technical consultants, network operators and other relevant industry stakeholders.
• Investment phase: Working with investment team to provide relevant advice on project opportunities and lead technical due diligence during M&A processes.
• Development phase: Support development of projects through project concept design, technical and constructability insights and input into construction contract tender and negotiation.
• Construction phase: Manage team of internal project managers and external construction management teams to deliver renewable energy projects safely, on time and on budget.
• Operations phase: Lead any works undertaken during DLP and general support with technical advice and input.

2. Financial Management:

• Cost Control: Build cost estimates for development and ensure cost-effective project execution while maintaining quality standards.
• Budgeting and Revenue Generation: Prepare and manage the team budget, allocating resources effectively to maximise revenue generation.

3. Team Management:

• Values Driven: Exemplify the Octopus values through active internal and external engagement.
• Team Management: Plan resource requirements to manage sustainable workloads in a dynamic business.  Set clear objectives and responsibilities as well as managing career development for the growing construction and engineering team.

The role:

In this newly created role, you will spearhead and lead our acquisition focus in the Australian and New Zealand market for our industry leading Transport Management System (TMS). It is focussed on primarily new business development, but also leverage existing large-scale accounts to grow ongoing revenue opportunities. 

Established over 18 years ago, TransVirtual is a fully integrated platform connecting agents, carriers, and logistic businesses all over the globe. Its strength is in its simplicity and scalability, as well its ability to integrate multiple carriers for a full 360-degree view of your logistics business.   

This role is of strategic importance to open pathways to introduce our technology with transport and logistics companies across Australia and New Zealand. You will have a background in sourcing new business opportunities be it over the phone and face to face; and have extensive experience with negotiating high level deals that may be complex in structure. As a business development leader, it is expected you will be relentless on the phone, building a pipeline of opportunity to see clients in person to secure their business. 

Having knowledge of the logistics industry will be a huge benefit, but most importantly your ability to understand quicky the relationships and connections to unlock deals will be paramount. Because of the nature of these partnership opportunities, networking, connecting with key decision makers and having a presence online and in person at key events will play an important role in your success.

• A proven talent for opening doors and negotiating strategic deals.
