The Community Health and Wellbeing Officer (CHWO) position is responsible for the implementation and evaluation of Councils health promotion initiatives as derived through the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP).  The position engages with the community to analyse and interpret emerging social issues and trends and provide advice and direction to Council, and key stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

• Initiate, design and implement projects that aim to enhance the health and wellbeing outcomes for the Hume Community
• Utilise a systems base approach to address the health and wellbeing needs of the Hume community and actively seek opportunities to collaborate with relevant Stakeholders
• Support policy development which aims to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the Hume community.
• Support the development and contribute to the implementation of key council planning documents including the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) and Hume Positive Ageing Strategy (HPAS).
• Engage and collaborate with local workplaces, schools, and community groups to implement best practice health promotion initiatives.
• Analyse and interpret emerging issues and trends and provide advice to the organisation regarding any likely implications for service planning and/or provision. 
• Support the design of program and projects activities that will deliver the priorities and outcomes for community. 
• Gather a wide range of inputs and conduct needs analysis on issues and the Portfolio’s priorities to support the development of appropriate strategies, plans, policies, programs, projects, and initiatives.  
• Ensure an evidence based approach to social policy reviews and development through contextual and demographic analysis, stakeholder engagement, best practice directions and research. 

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Tertiary or higher degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Social Planning, Community Development or similar field; and relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with significant experience.
• Experience in developing and implementing broad strategies to achieve health prevention objectives, particularly in the context of influencing public policy, health systems, or population based behavioural change.
• Experience of working within a diverse client base as well as new and emerging communities.
• Experience in working on multiple programs, projects, and teams with diverse skillsets. 
• Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of social policy frameworks, plans and strategies. 
• Proven skills and abilities to analyse and interpret emerging social issues and trends.  
• Demonstrated ability to review, develop and implement improved systems and processes to enhance organisation efficiency and effectiveness.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including an ability to write reports, plans, and submissions, deliver oral presentations and use social media.
• The ability to liaise with a wide range of health and welfare agencies and maintain effective partnerships.

The Gig

We are looking for a part-time accounts receivable officer to join our Finance Team on a 12-month contract, working 15-20 hours per week with the flexibility of working across 2 or 3 days. 

Reporting into the Finance Manager, the purpose of this role is to ensure Healthengine receives timely payment for the services it provides and to ensure these transactions are recorded appropriately. The overall goal is to maintain our aged receivables, improve the number of days sales are outstanding (DSO) and ensure our monthly cash collection targets are met. 

Responsibilities:

• Performance of daily bank account reconciliations at an estimated volume of 20-50 transactions per day.

• Maintenance of all accounts receivable records 

• Resolving customer account queries and investigating any other irregularities

• Collection of customer overdue accounts including the sending of statements and liaising with debt collection agencies

• Assistance with the preparation of weekly and monthly DSO and aged receivables reporting

• Attending to up to 20 outbound customer debt follow-up calls per week, along with emails

• Providing cover and support to the broader Finance team including assistance with other ad-hoc finance tasks (as required)

Experience you’ll bring:

• You are comfortable working autonomously and willing to take full ownership of the responsibilities and tasks associated with the role.

• You are able to manage your own time effectively, multi-task when required and work well under pressure. 

• You are also comfortable with new systems and processes including the use of Microsoft Excel to prepare and replicate financial reports.

• 2+ years experience in a similar position

• Experience with Microsoft Office and an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel skills

• Exposure to any of NetSuite, ZenDesk or SalesForce CSM would be looked upon favourably
