About the role

In this role you will lead, plan and coordinate transport (storage and transport moves), container park operations whilst maintaining a high level of discipline around cost efficiency and business productivity. You will work in collaboration with the operations team to ensure efficient freight movement between the wharf, customers, container park, and the warehouse to meet customer (internal & external) service key performance indicators. 

What you’ll do

• Manage all transport allocation and costs in line with operational requirements, maintaining a high level of productivity in all three main operations areas:

• Wharf – Import/Export

• Container Parks – Empty De-hire and Empty Pick Ups

• Customer – DIFOT/PIFOT

• Plan and monitor daily operations of the PUD Fleet ensuring freight and container movements in accordance with business requirements, showing great leadership and direction to PUD staff and all stakeholders to ensure high level of on time outcomes.

• Plan and implement container movements based on operational requirements.

• Participate in planning sessions with the Scheduler and Warehouse team to meet customer service requirements.

• Provide guidance and direction to PUD staff and Reach Stacker Operators.

• Maintain up to date information within the WAVE, 1-Stop and Container Chain systems.

• Consider and assist with allocation of equipment to whole of network users.

• Ensure dangerous goods are handled correctly through the container park and regulations are adhered to.

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience in fleet operations in Transport ideally in the intermodal/wharf industry

• Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S Legislative and Regulatory requirements including but not limited to Safety at Work, Fatigue Management, Mass Management Load Restraint and Chain of Responsibility legislative requirements.

• Understanding of the ADG 07 Code.

• Sound knowledge of Wharf Cartage, national rail line haul system, WA Road Transport legislation, regulations and permit network.

• Experience in Materials Handling process and procedures.

Overall Purpose of the Job

To manage and plan the pickup/delivery resources of the TGE Palletised Express Branch located at Altona North. The role will be responsible for supporting the Fleet Supervisors / Fleet Manager to ensure the safety, operational and financial performance of the transport operation. The overall performance will be dependent on the Fleet Controller maintaining systems and standards to ensure compliance with the TGE way.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate driver workforce planning and execute the day-to-day pickup/delivery tasks and maintaining customer expected DIFOT

• Support the operation on a day-to-day basis by making operational decisions based on the overall business objectives and coordinating available resources to ensure cost effectiveness

• Learn other functions of the fleet office to support the TGE Palletised Express Fleet team when others are absent

• Ensure all staff on site are appropriately inducted and trained by coordinating with the onsite compliance coordinator to ensure all staff have been trained appropriately before commencing duties

• Co-ordinate with other fleet controllers, general pickups and delivery requirements on an ADHOC basis with OSH partners

• Ensure that all administration systems, procedures and policies are understood and followed so as to ensure integrity of the financial reporting system and protection of the Company’s legal/financial and statutory position.

• Be responsible for providing daily reporting to TGE Intermodal customer base regarding delivery/pickup performance

• Maintain a basic understanding and working knowledge of all legislative compliance requirements (inclusive of environmental) that impact the business (training will provided where required)

• Ensure that site WHS is adhered to by conducting regular safety conversations, toolbox meeting, identifying and escalating hazards

• Ensuring appropriate use of driver TDA units to accurately track driver fatigue and movements

• Incident Management System – ensure preliminary incident reporting is entered in TRAC within a 24 hour period and escalated appropriately

• Work closely with the Fleet Supervisors / Manager to ensure service issues are rectified in a timely manner and provide support to the customer where required to ensure strong execution of service.

This Financial Controller is directly accountable for the financial information sent to the Hotel General Manager, as well as the respective Accor and Owners representatives. This function can be performed in a hybrid fashion with onsite requirements able to be satisfied by working the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort, Peppers Marysville's sister property. 

Primary Responsibilities for the Financial Controller include: 

• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Ensure that all Management Agreements and Owners Corporation matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner – with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist Department Heads/Managers to develop effective measures to enhance their department’s profitability.
• Supply all departments with accurate statistical information on a timely basis, and offer support on finance matters as required.
• Develop and monitor all financial systems for the Hotel with a view to improving and streamlining procedures.

• To provide independent review of strategic equity investments and transactions and advice to the Group CFO
