The Geospatial Analyst is responsible for executing GIS projects using a range of geospatial skills, including analysis, mapping, visualization, geospatial infrastructure development, data management, and dissemination. They manage and create geospatial products, such as datasets, to support decision-making and policy development. Additionally, they ensure the accurate and timely management of the Council's Geospatial Asset Data.

The role involves engaging and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build capability in geospatial analysis, supporting the use of location information in policy development, program delivery, and service design. They also identify process improvements, recommend system modifications, and apply data governance and quality framework.

The Geospatial Analyst may also coach and train less experienced geospatial analysts and supervises work experience students.

What you’ll be doing:

• Execute GIS Projects using a range of geospatial skills including analysis, mapping, visualisation, as well as geospatial infrastructure development, data management and dissemination.
• Manage and create geospatial products, including datasets (eg open space data sets) to support decision making and policy development.
• To provide accurate and timely management of the Councils Geospatial Asset Data. 
• Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build capability in geospatial analysis, supporting the use of location information in policy development, program delivery and service design.
• Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to identify process improvements, recommend system modifications and apply data governance and quality frameworks.
• Carry out the required procedures, such as compiling M1 and M2 forms to satisfy Council’s objectives for the Property Information Project (PIP) with DELWP.
• Ensure that the cadastral map database is kept up to date.
• Coach and train less experienced geospatial analysts.

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

• Tertiary qualifications in GIS or other relevant discipline ( ie Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Cartography, Computer Science, Geospatial technology), with some relevant experience in the GIS field, or a lesser formal qualification and substantial relevant experience. 
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of GIS principles, including analysis, maintenance and storage of geospatial data.
• Experience with geospatial databases and data formats.
• Professional certification in GIS, such as GIS Professional or other relevant certifications.
• Experience in public sector or local councils is desirable.
• Experience using relational databases and using SQL queries for data analysis.

Some Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver small IT infrastructure projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Conduct business, systems, and technical analysis to identify challenges and propose solutions.
• Design, document, configure, test, and implement on-premise and cloud infrastructure projects.
• Ensure compliance with IT standards, governance, and security requirements.
• Implement disaster recovery solutions, backups, and security measures for new systems.

The role of a sports marketing analyst is dynamic; a good analyst not only understands a client's data but also has the ability to use a range of marketing tools and strategies to help the client engage effectively with their audience.

What you might be getting up to: 

Research and Audience Growth

• Designing surveys to gain deeper insights into a client's fanbase, such as understanding their interests, hobbies, or databases' demographics. 

• Surveys can also be used and distributed after events or match days to gauge customer satisfaction, with specific focus on areas like facilities, food, and drink.

Campaign Planning and Management

• Developing and managing campaigns for clients

• Generate insights reports.

• Highlighting areas for improvement in the client’s marketing strategy.

Data Management and Data Analytics

• Diving deep into an event/match for key insights, such as: ticket sales, demographics and purchaser data

• Uncovering trends in data to tell stories

Client Relationships

• Build and own strong, supportive relationships with relevant stakeholders and develop an understanding of how to help them excel

The Banking Code Compliance team at the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) monitor banks’ compliance with the Banking Code of Practice (the Code). By driving best practice, its aim is to improve standards of service in the Australian Banking industry – ultimately helping banks to create a better banking experience for customers. The Code team is a separately operated and funded business unit of AFCA working with the independent Banking Code Compliance Committee(BCCC) (refer to Banking Code).

The role of Senior Code Compliance Analyst will report to the Banking Code Senior Manager.  The role involves monitoring bank practices to identify problems, recommending improvements and reporting publicly on findings. The role will be responsible for supporting the BCCC by providing high quality data and compliance analysis, monitoring and reporting on code compliance and investigating Code breach allegations.

Typically in this role, you will:

• Analyse qualitative and quantitative information to identify emerging problems and understand their significance
• Provide compliance research as well as other duties on behalf of the BCCC
• Monitor and report on Code compliance by leading compliance programs and monitoring activities
• Conduct compliance investigations and advise on corrective actions for breaches
• Provide BCCC secretariat support
• Proactively engage and liaise with code subscribers and consumer advocacy groups
