As the Engineering Manager - Unit Plant within the Engineering and Project Team, you'll be responsible for managing a team of professional engineers to deliver the asset management and day to day technical support for the boiler and turbine plant at the Bayswater Power Station. This role will develop long term asset strategies, set outage scopes, develop budgets for maintenance and capital expenditure and ensure the plant complies with engineering, quality, safety and environmental standards.

What you’ll be doing:
Developing, managing, and updating asset management strategies to meet agreed performance measures in an asset within increasing demands on flexibility and availability.
Managing issue identification, diagnostic completion, and improvement activities in line with group operations defect elimination and reliability standards.
Developing and approving maintenance and capital outage scoping packages as well as reviewing proposals for new plant, modifications to existing plant (including budgetary considerations in capital and maintenance).
Lead and develop a team of specialist engineers by providing strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and support.
Ensure that all plant assets systems meet internal and external standards for process safety integrity and act as a strong safety leader within the business.
What you’ll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or other relevant discipline or trade qualification with relevant industry experience. Post graduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Metallurgical Engineering is desirable.
Strong technical knowledge of heavy industry plant (power generation plant including turbine and boiler preferred) as well as a demonstrated high level of analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems.
Strong works and people coordination skills based on experience of delivering complex packages involving demonstration of leadership, and the ability to lead and coach in situations of high pressure and competing priorities.
Ability to hold people accountable to meet key deadlines and milestones while giving flexibility and promoting the importance of wellbeing.
Excellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills as part of interfacing with various levels of management and external bodies and agencies coupled with high quality written and verbal and collaborative skills.
