A leading and renowned Managed Service Provider in Cairns are seeking a Level 2/3 IT Support Engineer to work in a multifaceted role to support the IT systems, network, hardware infrastructure of several key clients round the Cairns/Far-North QLD region! Being permanent and based in Cairns, this role has ample room for growth to further your career.
Your new role
Established several years ago to initially service the needs of those in the Cairns region, over time this organisation has expanded to support customers from Mackay all the way up to PNG. An advocate for automation and getting to the root cause of issues (no band aid fixes), this team (and organisation) operate extremely efficiency and believe that they have only done their job right if their clients never contact them (no calls mean no issues!). Due to this along with their work practices, ethics and how they conduct business there is no shortage of work with their business not slowing down anytime soon.
As part of this they are seeking to expand their crucial Technical Services Team by hiring a brand new Level 2/3 IT Support Engineer with room for growth (due to them being big believers of promoting from within). With a very high retention rate and low staff turnover, this organisation are looking to the long term and want to hire (and invest) in the right person to increase not just their own technical capabilities, but what they can offer to their customers.
Reporting into the Technical Team Lead, your newly created role will see you work within a multifaceted team responsible for the management and support of all hardware, infrastructure, networks and systems used by thousands throughout the region. This can include (but not limited to) AV equipment, password resets, virtual machines, IoT devices, mobile equipment, desktop hardware, Wi-Fi infrastructure and Azure instances (to name a few).
Within this team you will have a focus on supporting the technologies in use and ensuring their continual 24/7 operation. This can include any issues up to levels 2/3 alongside supporting the Projects Team. Examples of the projects this team conduct can be Cisco network hardware refreshes, upgrading purpose built on prem data centres, virtualisation maintenance (VMware/vCenter), Windows Server deployments and Windows upgrades to name a few.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience across as much of the following as possible:
The Microsoft eco system - e.g. Windows Servers and Desktop OS (such as Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012 R2, Windows 10, etc), Microsoft 365, SCCM, 365, etc
Configuration of networking/infrastructure platforms (Switches, Routers, Access Points, etc)
Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc) maintenance and deployment/rollouts
The ConnectWise platform (advantageous but not required)
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Technical mindset
Working with stakeholders at all levels
Perfect communication skills (written and verbal)
