THE OPPORTUNITY

Cruise Whitsundays are seeking Marine Vessel Engineer's (MED 1) to join the team on a casual basis.

Offering a unique lifestyle roster based out of Airlie Beach, The Whitsundays. Working 4 days one week and 3 the next where you never work a full weekend!​ 

This is a hands-on position which oversees, through relevant procedures, the safe mechanical operations of vessels ensuring all repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.

What you will be doing?

• Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels
• Alongside the Master, management and safe operations of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures
• Diagnose system problems as and when they occur
• Ensure all maintenance requirements and ramifications are recorded
• Coordinate and maintain effective vessel preventative maintenance programs
• Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off
• Assist with securing vessels at the various marinas and island jetties
• Be involved in safety drill practices as required by the Master
• Assist with guest experience duties including meeting and greeting of guests

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will have demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures. 

The ideal candidate will be an experience Marine Engineer preferably within the Marine Tourism industry.

Role Purpose:

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead areas of the design and development of Epsilon Retail Media’s software systems. This role will be familiar with all the policies, procedures, and technical issues related to programming. You will be generally competent across the majority of areas within the Epsilon Retail Media system and have a good understanding of how it functions together.

You will take a lead position in the development of initiatives within the squad structure and provide the technical vision for the initiatives you are involved in. You will also be responsible for communicating status updates to people external to the squad, including any potential risks to the delivery deadline (scope creep, reduced resources etc.) as early as possible so effective support can be provided.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Mentor Junior and Intermediate Software Engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
• In collaboration with your Engineering Manager and the Technical Lead, build and maintain development processes and procedures, in TDD (test-driven development) or BDD (behaviour-driven development), and build upon a core SDLC.
• Implementing and monitoring ongoing strategies to enable us to deliver quality and excellence through robust testing education and policies that are balanced and appropriate to the scope of the project being delivered.
• In collaboration with the Test and Release Manager, establish automation quality assurance test methods and procedures, incorporating new technologies and meeting changing organizational, customer, and/or regulatory requirements.
• Perform intensive testing of all new and existing programs to ensure they are free of errors and function as intended.
• In collaboration with other Senior Software Engineers and Engineering Managers, ensure timely status and metrics reporting to project management and senior management.
• Work with the Development team, Product Managers, and Engineering

As an Associate Engineer in our Water Infrastructure team, you will help deliver major, cutting-edge projects. Our Water Infrastructure project portfolio spans water-sensitive urban design, water infrastructure, floodplain management, sustainability and ecosystem management and water resources.

Role Purpose:

The Platform Operations teams are responsible for the support, reliability and stability of Epsilon RMN production systems, environments and offerings. The team owns the reliability vision for the company, driving continuous improvement through a combination of development and operations initiatives as well as process excellence. The team has full solid-line responsibility for operations including the deployment, management, monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and repair of production systems. Core to the success of the role is to provide a premium customer support experience focused on a “centre of excellence” that allows for a full-service delivery support cycle.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability.
• Practice incident management processes and provide on-call capability
• Work with the wider Engineering, Product, Delivery and Security teams to ensure that appropriate attention is given to production/system reliability for our customers.
• Uphold Operational Practices in conjunction with the Product and Engineering teams (e.g.understanding how product feature development could affect the system’s overall reliability, performance or our customers).
• Uphold the IT Service and Support workflow - with a particular focus on ensuring best in class customer experience.
• Discuss and recommend more complex or innovative technical developments to improve the quality of software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs.
