We are looking for a Manager, Regulatory Reporting & Treasury to join our Finance, Reporting & Control team.

This role supports the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Control by overseeing the preparation, submission, and accuracy of all regulatory financial reporting across Cuscal. This is a highly visible role in the business and will be responsible for maintaining an effective and robust risk and control culture around Finance’s regulatory and treasury functions. The responsibilities in this role sit across four key areas: 

1) Regulatory Reporting 

• Oversight of the preparation and submission of Group Finance’s APR regulatory reports in accordance with Cuscal’s requirements as an ADI;  

• Responsibility for preparation of internal reporting to support management in assessing the regulatory impact of decision making (e.g. ALCO committee reporting, Board committee papers specific to Prudential requirements); 

• Balance Sheet Management and forecasting as it relates to Regulatory Capital ratios; 

• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the bank’s reporting framework and practices; 

• Collaborate with finance, risk management, and compliance teams to gather and validate data necessary for reporting;  

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the regulatory reporting process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations; 

• Support the Financial Controller in the delivery of the Group Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Plan (ICAAP) Summary Statement;  

• Identification, measuring and monitoring of limits under Prudential Standards (e.g. APS 110/111 Capital, APS 221/222 exposures); 

2) Financial Analysis 

• Provide analysis to the Finance and Risk teams on regulatory impacts of business decisions;  

• Conduct detailed analyses of regulatory reports to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement 

3) Financial Control & Treasury 

• Review of daily Treasury control functions (P&L and Balance Sheet reviews, and reconciliations);   

• Production of monthly, half year and year end Board and Board Audit Committee reporting, as it relates to the Regulatory Reporting and Treasury function; 

4) Audit 

• Support audits (APS 310 and Financial/Year-end) and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations;  

• Support the Financial Controller in any APS 310 issues management & resolution;

• Monitor legislative changes, assess their impact on the business, and review or develop processes and policies to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Assist and partake in periodic audits initiated by insurer/s and/or internally.
• Facilitate end-to-end breach and incident management by leading project teams, maintaining the incident register, tracking incident status to resolution or completion, and driving the remediation of breaches and incidents.
• Review and optimise customer communication journeys, including emails, SMS, and letters, to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with product updates, insurer changes, or incident remediation efforts.
• Review marketing materials and content to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including AFSL requirements, and alignment with legal and risk obligations.
• Establish and maintain open channels of communication with insurer compliance teams to facilitate collaboration, address compliance matters, and ensure alignment with regulatory and business requirements.
• Manage compliance committee operations, including preparing reports, agendas, and minutes, distributing outcomes to the Executive team, and monitoring actions to ensure timely completion and accountability.
• Provide guidance and support to call centre and operational teams to ensure customer and third-party enquiries are handled in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

QA:

• Management of the QA team (1x QA Team Lead, 4x QA officers & 1x Risk and Compliance Graduate).
• Oversee reporting on QA performance and compliance (e.g. QA reporting).
• Prepare management action plans to address key compliance issues and risks identified through the QA process.
• Creation and review of call centre scripting and QA scoring across sales, service, claims and retention teams .
• Lead Oversee the QA calibration sessions with the call centre teams
• Provide insights into the performance and risks arising from our operations (technology and call centre).
• Act as the primary point of contact for escalated QA matters, providing guidance, resolution, and ensuring alignment with compliance and quality standards.
• Manage end-to-end projects relating to QA and/or directly impacting QA deliverables.

How will I be measured?

• Existence of up-to-date QA and compliance frameworks including documentation of processes
• Passing of ongoing audits
• Meeting KPIs with regards to QA
• Advancement and embedment of our compliance automation frameworks
• Timely resolution of complaints
• Over time the reduction in the reoccurrence of the repeated complaints through the identification of root causes via the QA process

What do I need to be successful? 

• Law degree
• A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in insurance law and/or financial services law
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and time frames
• Ability to work with a wide range of people in a collegiate and responsive manner

• Hybrid working model with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days a week and a minimum of 2 days a week in the Sydney CBD office.

What you'll need to bring to the role & Experian

• Experience in program/project planning/PMO processes
• 5+ years of experience with project delivery in large and complex organisations with extensive Project Management experience, including knowledge of managing major, cross divisional projects
• 5+ years of experience managing multiple stakeholder groups ranging from senior business and technology stakeholders to product owners / delivery leads
