About you

The Animal Referral Hospital Wollongong is a well-established small animal emergency hospital, we provide emergency and overnight care for the entire Illawarra region and pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of patient care.

Your new role;

• Full time or Part time position available - availability for late night and weekend shifts required
• Managing the day-to-day operations of our hospital, including stock management, rostering and change management
• Monitoring monthly financial performance and team performance, whilst implementing actions to encourage improvement
• Leading a team of Vet Nurses and supporting busy Vets
• Guiding and developing the Nurse team, building a positive team culture 
• Provide nursing care to critically ill and injured patients, collaborating with our skilled veterinary team to deliver timely and effective emergency treatments
• Monitor patients closely, administer medications, and assist with medical procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
• Driving our business forward through creating and implementing local marketing initiatives

What you’ll bring to the role;

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
• Minimum 4+ years of experience working as a vet nurse with previous experience leading a team
• Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of emergency nursing practices and procedures
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards work 
• Great attention to detail
• HR experience in performance monitoring and management
• Strong leadership and team building skills, and the ability to provide coaching for team members and to build a positive culture in your team
• Experience with Rx works (preferred but not essential)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good business acumen and organisational skills
