The Role
Reporting to the Head of HSE, the Health and Safety Manager - Development and Projects is responsible for managing workplace health and safety across the business with a focus on development activities and key improvement projects.
The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Development team and corporate functions including advising on WHS risk management, WHS training, injury management and participating in and monitoring WHS inspections and observations.
This role will involve travel to office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures and improvement initiatives to ensure risk is effectively managed and compliance with WHS legislation achieved.
- Lead the continued development, implementation, promotion and review of SQE’s WHS Management System.
- Participate in and conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in WHS training programs to ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop strategies to prevent reoccurrences.
- Collate and report monthly on WHS incident data for SQE and identify trends.
About you
You will have:
- Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Mental Health First Aider, Workplace Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator.
- Demonstrated experience in health and safety roles, preferably in a business support and corporate setting.
- Experience in applying WHS legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice for effective management of business risks.
- Strong organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritize workload.
- Work efficiently and effectively to deadlines and respond to multiple and diverse stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- A current Australian driver’s licence
