ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Fish Health Manager, you will be responsible for:
Undertaking sampling, health checks, and investigations at our marine or hatchery sites.
Coordinating the operation of hatcheries to promote fish health, taking into account environmental and market factors.
Enforcing animal welfare and biosecurity compliance within our operational teams.
Keeping up to date on salmon industry best practices
Working with research bodies to assist with data collection, analysis, and conclusive reporting of results for collaborative fish health projects.
Maintaining, monitoring, and evaluating records of farming activities and planning production accordingly.
Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors when required to raise awareness of the VHP.
Ensuring laboratories and fish health workstations are clean and well stocked, actively promoting best husbandry practices, assisting with gill checking activities as required and ensuring administrative tasks are seen through to completion.
Operating on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, this role is offering a minimum annual salary of $70,000 + super. Located primarily at Huon’s Southern site, there will be regular travel to other Marine and Freshwater sites across Tasmania.

The role:

The Registered Nurse – Department of Critical Care (DCCM) provides intensive care and high dependency care in partnership with patients / consumers, their families and other health professionals. The unit values consumer focused care, clinical excellence, collaboration and communication.

The DCCM is seeking highly motivated and engaged experienced ICU nurses to join our team. We offer professional development opportunities; support for post graduate studies and the ability to participate in research and quality improvement.

About the Royal Hobart Hospital  

The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital in Tasmania and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The hospital provides all general and specialty medical and surgical services as well as paediatrics, obstetrics and psychiatry. It is also the state’s tertiary trauma centre.  

The Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM) provides a tertiary level service, providing care for >1,400 patients annually.  The DCCM provides complex and multidisciplinary care to a broad range of patients including cardiac and cardio-thoracic surgery; extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), neurosurgery, trauma, vascular surgery, burns, complex obstetrics and general medical and surgical.

The RHH DCCM is a fast-paced and energetic environment and there are opportunities for staff to be involved in a variety of projects, clinical and research opportunities. 

The DCCM has undergone redevelopment and expansion to provide an environment that will meet the growing need for critical care services in Tasmania. The new pod is due to open in coming months.

Permanent, full time, shift-worker positions, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

About the role

Council is seeking a suitably qualified Senior Contract Construction Manager. You have experience in a similar role, preferably in a Local Government environment. You have knowledge and understanding of Transport for NSW Technical and Material Specifications or equivalent and a proven ability for managing and supervising contractors and consultants to achieve project targets.
