About Us
Structural Arts is a small and growing practice based in the Gold Coast Hinterland. We work with a lot of great clients and our business is built on our reputation for providing excellent designs and personalised service. We are strongly focused on customer service and we take pride in building solid and professional relationships.
Projects range in size and scale from small renovations to $5M commercial developments to $20M hospitality and community facilities. As our name implies, we believe the practice of engineering is an art and a creative endeavour, as we support our clients and colleagues in trying to achieve something more than ordinary.
About the Role
Our wide range of projects includes box retail and commercial developments, multi-storey office buildings, support for equipment in industrial and mining applications, water treatment plant structures, solar farms and solar installations, prestige homes, basic residential renovations and retaining walls. We consult to architects, developers, factory and mine operators, Councils, hospital and aged care providers, project managers and civil engineers and builders.
We work closely with our all our clients; you’ll be supported and encouraged to develop strong working relationships with them. Occasionally you may need to travel to remote sites; height and confined space access skills will be valuable.
Dedication to our clients means we take on small tasks including residential renovations, retaining and revetment walls and condition evaluations. You will be able to complete these projects while also working with larger consultant teams on other projects.

About You
You will bring a range of capabilities and experience as we work across several industries and offer a wide variety of services. You will be able to take on small to large tasks with equal skill and enthusiasm. You will have a positive attitude and enjoy the challenge of difficult projects and structures. Ideally you will have good analytical skills and strong written communication skills. The ability to sketch and draw is also valued. Your skills will include structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, masonry, timber and aluminium. .
Residential design experience will also be highly regarded and water or resource industry experience is desirable. Australian experience is essential and local experience in south east Queensland would be ideal.
We expect you to be:
- Proficient in SpaceGass and RamConcePT
- Accustomed to using Bluebeam to markup drawings
- Skilled with spreadsheets
Experience using Tedds, AutoCAD, Navisworks and Revit would also be good. We won't be asking you to draft but the ability to sketch and use the programs is important.
Selection Criteria
Engineering degree recognised by Engineers Australia for Chartered Status
Be eligible for CPEng or RPEQ licences or be working toward those qualifications
Hold (or be eligible) for Australian driver’s licence
Hold a Queensland White card
4 years or more structural design experience
