About the Role The Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) provides pre and post-operative care to patients being admitted for a surgical procedure, including both same day and multi-day admissions. The DOSA is a 40 bed, shared public & private department. As the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of DOSA, you will have strong leadership capabilities to manage a dedicated team, and a commitment to providing excellent patient-centred care and service to optimise outcomes and maximise experience. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic NUM who is passionate about surgery and leading a cohesive team that is focused on patient experience and outcomes. Recent experience in managing a day surgery unit and / or surgical ward is preferable and you will be part of a supportive and progressive management team within the hospital. In this role you will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
A minimum of 5 years' clinical care experience in a relevant speciality
Desirable Qualifications:
Postgraduate qualification in Leadership and Management / or a relevant clinical specialty
Experience in managing a department (including acting or deputising into the Manager role)
Experience in both the private healthcare sector
