About the Role  

We are seeking a Business Development Manager who is a proactive, target-driven individual with a passion for fostering client relationships, driving business growth, and exceeding goals. This role will identify, qualify, and close new business that results in substantial incremental revenue and margins.  As a primary business lead, you will be responsible for cultivating new relationships and maintaining existing ones for allocated accounts, driving customer retention, and actively generating leads across Australia.

You’ve the ability to effectively communicate ideas and strategies, coupled with compelling presentation skills. You’ve proven capability in establishing and nurturing relationships across all organizational levels. You’re target-oriented with a demonstrated track record of meeting and surpassing targets and KPIs, including pipeline metrics and opportunity coverage.

You’ve proven experience in bid preparation and are proficiency in bid preparation, support, and submission processes. You’ve the ability to adeptly manage sales pipelines, forecasts, and opportunities within CRM systems. You’re an expert in crafting business development plans that yield effective results. 

Experience in business development for the software industry is required. Exposure to the libraries domain and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels are highly desirable.

• Consultants Design Management
• Management of Consultant appointments, commissions, payments, deliverables.
• Management of Client budgets, funding applications, finance approvals

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager/Project Engineer to join the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne or Sydney office. 

The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of Octopus’s projects at all stages of the project lifecycle including origination/investment, development, construction and operation.

Our project managers/engineers are expected to:

• Manage the construction stage delivery of renewable energy projects, managing scope, program, budget and stakeholder engagement to achieve best for project outcomes.
• Provide engineering support to the wider business including:
  • Providing technical input into due diligence for investment processes.
  • Supporting development and procurement activities.
  • Evaluation of operating plant performance and investigation of issues.
  • Supporting with investor relations.

• Managing larger multi-disciplinary teams delivering complex projects and programs
• Developing working relationships, problem solving and driving projects to successful completion
• Proactively managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations
• Responsible for preparation of project management plans, programs, budgets and other key project deliverables
• Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
• Managing project timelines, risks and reporting 
• Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track
• Chairing project meetings with clients and consultants
• Managing internal project administration including invoicing, variations, subconsultant management and contract risk
• Building the business through engagement, marketing and tendering activities
• Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues to grow and develop professionally
