As an IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 Consultant for Cortell Australia, you will be responsible for designing and developing leading analytical solutions to help customers achieve the business outcomes we have been consulted to deliver. You will deliver business requirement workshops, participate in the design and development of advanced planning and reporting solutions using IBM Planning Analytics / TM1, and provide consulting and advice for implementing the IBM Cognos product suite and the latest IBM offerings in this space.
As a consultant you will be part of a team managing the client’s expectations, working closely to achieve the desired results and managing projects to time and budget.
You will report into the National Services Director and the project manager within each project delivering status updates and project reviews as required.
Your background and role will incorporate the following:
• 8-10 years utilizing FPM tools (e.g. IBM Planning Analytics / TM1, Adaptive Insights, Hyp. Planning, Essbase) as well as business intelligence tools in a financial analytics context.
• Ideally, a minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analytics with demonstrated ability to design compelling solutions to business challenges with FPM and BI toolsets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with business processes, System Development Life Cycle and best practices of quality management.
• Knowledge and understanding of cultural and IT business environments
• Project co-ordination and planning experience
• Skills in developing valued relationships with clients and industry leaders
• Documentation and proposal writing skills
• Ability to work within a delivery team and project managers in leading and ensuring successful project transition with technical and business staff.
• Proven ability to work independently or on a team as required.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Business Intelligence user experience a plus, such as Cognos or BO or SAS
• Experience working with datamarts, disparate data tables, data cleansing methods, ETL techniques, model-building, statistical techniques, and various evaluation and deployment scenarios required.
• Detailed technical knowledge of the IBM Cognos extended platform would be preferred
• Extensive knowledge of IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 Solution with appropriate certifications
• Ability to travel
Responsibilities:
• Maintain professional services standards, in line with Cortell's business practices.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
• Provide delivery management to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Service existing clients of the Company and strive to expand the Company’s client base
• Ensure the clients maximize and take advantage of Cortell's best practices.
• Develop, implement, and manage enterprise project engagements.
• When required, participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, formulate delivery
approach and develop proposals and Statement of Works (SOW).
• Work with the client personnel to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.
• Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation
• Assist in the transition of the customer from sales to professional services, and from
professional services to product support.
• Support management and client instructions
• Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW Successfully and
professionally manage client expectations and apply change control procedures
• Present clients with change orders in the event they're asking Cortell to perform tasks that are outside the scope of the SOW
• Hands on delivery in consulting engagements when required
• Ensure continual communication to Cortell on the progress of the delivery - liaise with
Managers and other employees of Cortell to ensure that the services provided are in an efficient, effective and prompt manner.
• Work closely with the Professional Services Manager on all of the above.
• Complete accurate timesheets by close of business Friday each week
• Work with Cortell's Policies and Procedures where relevant
• Participate in training where relevant
