How you will make an impact Cabrini's Patient Services function is integral to patient satisfaction, clinical efficiency and financial performance. In striving for excellence in all that we do, Cabrini Health is seeking an experienced administration professional with strong leadership skills and clear direction to join our Emergency Department. As our ED Clerical Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with the Patient Services Operational Performance Manager to ensure the effective management of the administration functions of the ED department. Cabrini's Emergency Department is a vital part of Cabrini Health offering a 24 hours, 7 days a week service to adults and children requiring urgent medical attention. We treat all acute emergency conditions (except major trauma) with onsite access to a full range of diagnostic services and rapid referral to Cabrini Specialists. Key responsibilities include:
Technical training and education of ED Clerical staff
Building staff rosters, assigning work areas and allocating coverage to achieve effective and efficient work performance
An ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff
Managing escalations from ED Clerical staff, such as complex eligibility assessment, patient feedback and other health insurance matters
Working with the Patient Services Operation Performance Manager and Team Leader colleagues to review and improve processes and ways of working
About you You will be a dynamic and patient focussed team member who enjoys showing a caring attitude towards both your team and the community we serve. Key to the success of this role is the ability to build relationships with clinical and non-clinical leaders and staff to enable organisational objectives to be met in a collaborative way. You will also have the following:
Relevant work experience in a hospital or medical practice, with previous experience leading a team
Strong organisational and time management skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and following through on tasks
A patient and customer focused approach to care delivery
Demonstrated ability to build relationships working collaboratively with colleagues and peers
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
Excellent computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
An understanding of the Australian private health insurance system
An understanding of the Medicare billing system
Previous experience in Patient Management system webPAS (desirable)
Previous experience in Medical Director and Pracsoft (desirable)
